The four commonly recognized procurement contract types are fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, time-and-materials, and indefinite-delivery contracts. Fixed-price arrangements set a defined payment; cost-reimbursement contracts repay allowable costs; time-and-materials contracts pay for labor and materials used; and indefinite-delivery vehicles establish terms for future orders. The applicable solicitation identifies the contract structure, performance requirements, evaluation criteria, and key compliance obligations.
